The Ancient Mariner in East Looe seems to top everyone’s favourite restaurant list. This family-run bistro is well known for serving delicious locally sourced food, cooked to perfection.

A taste of the seaside
As the name indicates, The Sardine Factory is a great place for locally sourced seafood. Using the freshest of day boat fish from Looe market opposite the restaurant, their food philosophy is to keep it simple and fresh.
“This is a new place to eat for us and I must say it was extremely good. Food service and great watching the chef’s cook. Smart decor as well.”

Another of the best places to eat in Looe if you like great seafood is The Old Sail Loft Restaurant. This former quayside warehouse dates back 450 years and serves classic and modern dishes.
“Excellent from start to finish. Our starters of scallops and prawns were brilliant. The surf and turf and fillet steak were up with the best that we have had. Service was good and I really couldn’t find a fault!”

Built in 1420 with timbers from the Armada, the Smugglers Cott Restaurant in Looe oozes charm. It specialises in Local Seafood and Prime Steaks along with its now famous Carvery.
“Just had a really lovely evening meal at The Smugglers Cott. Everything was perfect, from the setting, the staff, the menu, to the food and drinks. A good strong menu with plenty of choice. Looking forward to being able to visit again and highly recommend it for a great meal out.”
