Cornwall is famed for its coastline. With its beautiful beaches and spectacular stretches of sands, it’s easy to see why its such a popular choice.
But why not see the coast from a different perspective? Rather than looking out to see from the beach, why not look back at coastline from the water and get an altogether different view of this stunning county?
One of the best ways to do this is to take one of the many boat trips and cruises the depart from various locations around the coast. Our Cornwall holiday park is just a short distance from Looe, Polperro and Fowey, which are some of the most popular places to start your sea-based excursion.
To help inspire you, we’ve highlighted just a few of our favourite trips that you can enjoy…
Fowey River Trips and Cruises
Enjoy a 45-minure cruise along the River Fowey and harbour and learn more about the history of this beautiful town. You will be guided up the river as far as Wiseman’s Reach, passing Daphne du Maurier’s house, Fowey Docks before heading downstream past Readymoney Cover and the harbour entrance and village of Polruan on the opposite side of the water.
Polperro boat cruises
Polperro is the place for a variety of boat cruises, from fishing trips and passenger ferries to Looe and Fowey to scenic coastal trips.
Operating from Easter until November, weather permitting, the coastal scenic trips take in the beauty of the Cornish coastline, seeing birds and wildlife in their natural habitat. You might even be lucky enough to see some of the rarer visitors to Cornish waters including dolphins, sunfish and basking sharks. The cost for this boat trip is around £6 for adults and £4 for children (under 12).
Boatzer Glass Bottom Boat Trips
Take a 45-minute boat trip on a glass-bottomed boat and view the sea bed and marine life without getting wet! Leaving from Looe, the trip will take you on a tour out around Looe Island where you will get the chance to see the caves, sea birds, and (if you’re lucky) the chance to spot a seal or two.
90-minute trips out to Polperro are also available.
Superstar speedboat trips, Looe
Get ready for an unforgettable experience! The Superstar is a 40-something-year-old speedboat that has been beautifully maintained. It offers a thrilling ride around Looe Bay. One recent reviewer described their adventure as “like going for a ride in a classic car. It’s like the old girl is alive. The views of the bay are fantastic from the sea, and the trip covers a large area with plenty to see.” Hard to argue with that!
